About Local Pro 247
Local Pro 247 is a UK directory that helps people find independent local tradespeople and request quotes for the work they need doing. You tell us the trade, the job and your postcode, and we pass your request on to the tradespeople who cover your area. Customers never pay anything to request a quote.
The platform covers 24 trade categories, from gas engineers, electricians and plumbers through to plasterers, roofers, locksmiths, cleaners and garden maintenance. Alongside the directory we provide free tools for tradespeople — job tracking, quotes and invoices, gas and electrical safety certificates, and risk assessments — so a sole trader can run the admin side of their business in one place instead of across spreadsheets and paper.
Local Pro 247 is built for two audiences. For customers, it is a straightforward way to reach local trades without phoning round. For tradespeople, it is a way to receive work in their own area without paying a subscription — they pay a small one-off lead fee only when they choose to accept a job. It is designed with sole traders and small firms in mind, and it works across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Local Pro 247 is an independent UK platform, built and maintained by its own small team rather than a national chain or franchise. We are a directory, not an employer and not a vetting service: we do not carry out background checks, and we make no claims about the competence of anyone listed or the quality of their work. For the four regulated trades above we cross-check registration against the official register on the date recorded on the trader's profile, and we re-check it annually. That check is a snapshot rather than continuous monitoring, so the responsibility for confirming a tradesperson's current registration always rests with you.
For customers
Describe the job, tell us your postcode, and we pass your request to the local tradespeople who cover your area. Requesting a quote is always free — you decide who to hire, and you pay the tradesperson directly.
For tradespeople
Receive work in your own area with no subscription. You choose which jobs to take, and you pay only a small one-off lead fee when you accept one. Free tools for quotes, invoices, job tracking and safety paperwork come with the account.
Across the UK
Local Pro 247 covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, across 24 trade categories — from gas engineers, electricians and plumbers to plasterers, roofers, locksmiths, cleaners and garden maintenance.
Regulated trades
For gas engineers, electricians, scaffolders and F-gas engineers we cross-check the trader's registration against the official register, and the date of that check is shown on their profile. It is a point-in-time record, not a live monitor — always re-check the live register and ask to see a physical ID card before work begins.
