Local Pro 247 is an introduction platform. For regulated trades (gas, electrical, F-Gas and scaffolding) we cross-reference each tradesperson's registration against the official register — the Gas Safe Register, Registered Competent Person Electrical, Refcom F-Gas Register and CISRS — on a recorded date shown on the tradesperson's profile. We do not continuously monitor registrations, endorse, or guarantee any tradesperson. Always re-check a tradesperson's live registration status on the relevant register, and their insurance, before engaging them.
How ratings work
Local Pro 247 uses a two-way blind star rating system. Here's what that means in plain English.
- 1
Both sides can rate each other
After a job is completed, the customer rates the tradesperson and the tradesperson rates the customer. Each score is a 1–5 star rating.
- 2
Scores stay hidden until both are in
Neither rating is shown until both parties have submitted their score, or 14 days pass from job completion. This keeps the process fair and stops one side from being influenced by the other's rating.
- 3
Low scores need a reason and proof
A rating of 3 stars or below must select an objective reason (for example, poor workmanship, hidden costs, or unpaid invoices) and upload supporting proof such as an invoice or photo. This applies in both directions.
- 4
An admin reviews the proof
Before any low score is made public, a platform administrator checks that the proof supports the reason given. If the proof doesn't support it, the rating stays hidden.
- 5
Hidden low ratings are kept for up to 12 months
Ratings that are rejected or removed are not shown publicly but are retained securely for up to 12 months in case of dispute or audit. The uploaded proof is cleared once a decision is made.
- 6
Your identity is not stored with your rating
We never store a customer's name or email against a rating. Ratings are linked using a one-way hashed token, so the same customer can be recognised across jobs without us holding their personal details.
- 7
Only the totals are shown publicly
Public profiles show aggregate star counts and the objective reason categories an admin has upheld — never the specific text or identity behind a low rating.
- 8
You can appeal a removal
If your rating is removed after admin review, you can submit an appeal. An administrator reviews the appeal and either reinstates or upholds the removal.
Local Pro 247 is an introduction platform. We do not vet, endorse, approve or guarantee any tradesperson, and we do not perform background checks. For regulated trades we cross-reference registration numbers against the official register on a recorded date, but we do not continuously monitor them. Always re-check a tradesperson's live registration on the Gas Safe Register or the Registered Competent Person Electrical register, and confirm their insurance, before engaging them.
