How it works

How Local Pro 247 matches you with local trades

We're a directory that connects customers with local tradespeople. Here's exactly what the platform does — and what it doesn't do — when you submit a job.

The customer journey

Step 1

Create your survey

Pick your trade and tell us about the job. Add photos and answers so local trades can see exactly what's involved before they decide to accept.

Step 2

We geo-search the directory

Using your postcode, the platform searches the trade directory for professionals working within a radius of you. This is an automated search — it is not a hand-picked match, and the platform does not select or screen who is notified.

Step 3

Nearby trades are notified

Trades working in your area receive your survey. Each one decides for themselves whether to accept. There is no ranking, shortlist or recommendation from the platform.

Step 4

The first to accept contacts you

When a trader accepts, they contact you directly to arrange the work and quote. From that point the platform steps back — it is not a party to the work, the quote, or any payment between you and the trader.

In plain English

When you submit a job, the platform runs an automated search of the trade directory for people working near you and sends them your survey. It does not pick a tradesperson for you, rank them, or check their work. The first trader to accept gets in touch with you directly. After that, the arrangement — the quote, the work and any payment — is between you and that trader. The platform is not involved in the work itself.

What we check — and what we don't

Local Pro 247 is a directory that connects customers with local tradespeople. We are not a vetting or employment service, and we do not carry out background checks on tradespeople.

For the four regulated trades — gas engineers, electricians, scaffolders, and F-gas / air conditioning engineers — we cross-check each trader's registration against the official register and re-check it every year (matching the annual expiry of these registrations). The date of the last check is shown on their profile. Each check is a point-in-time snapshot, not a live monitor, so always re-check the live register and ask to see the trader's physical ID card before work begins.

For all other trades, listings rely on customer reviews and the information traders provide themselves. We do not verify these listings, and we make no claims about a trader's competence or the quality of their work.

How Local Pro 247 is funded. Local Pro 247 is an introducer, not an employer or agent of the tradespeople listed. Tradespeople pay the platform a small lead fee only when they accept a job, which gives them access to your contact details so they can quote. The tradesperson — not Local Pro 247 — carries out the work and is responsible for it, including workmanship, regulatory status, and insurance. Local Pro 247 does not endorse, approve, vet, or guarantee any tradesperson.

For tradespeople

Traders receive job leads for work in their area based on the customer's postcode and their own search radius. You only pay a small lead fee when you accept a job — there's no subscription and no cost to receive notifications. The platform doesn't take a cut of your quote or your earnings; once you accept, you deal directly with the customer.
